NOSE GEAR ALIGNMENT TOLERANCES
Rudder Pedal Neutral Angle 14° + 3°, - 1°
(Aft of Vertical)
Nose Wheel Travel 20° ± 1° left minimum
20° ± 1° right minimum
(6) Check that the rudder is properly rigged and the rudder cable tension is correct. (See Rudder
Control Cables - Rigging and Adjustment, 27-20-00.)
(7) Clamp the rudder pedals together to align them in a lateral position. (See Figure 4.) The rudder
pedals are tilted aft of vertical when in their neutral position as shown in Figure 5.
(8) Check that the nose wheel is in alignment with the longitudinal axis of the airplane. (Chalk
line.)
(9) To adjust the nose wheel to bring it into proper alignment, disconnect the steering rods at the
steering horn and adjust the nose wheel steering horn stops to contact the steering horn when
the nose wheel is turned left and right of center to the travel limits shown in Chart 1. Center the
nose wheel.
