TROUBLESHOOTING ENGINE
Trouble Cause Remedy
Inaccurate pressure readings Cold weather. In extremely cold weather,
after initial engine start. until engine has warmed to
normal operating
temperature, oil pressure
readings up to 100 psi do
not necessarily indicate
malfunctioning.
Overpriming during initial Cold weather. Rotate the crankshaft,
engine start. by hand, in the
counterclockwise direction
with throttle FULL OPEN
and ignition switch OFF.
Inaccurate pressure readings Cold weather. High or low pressure
after initial engine start. readings, due to extremely
cold weather, are not
necessarily a malfunction.
Small and long oil lines will
not transfer pressure
readings accurately until
engine has warmed to
normal operating
temperature.
