9. Install the torsion spring by wrapping each leg of the
spring around the dowel pin on the ring gear.
10. Align the spring retainer dowel pin with the ring gear
d
owel pin and install the retainer on top of the torsion
spring.
11. Check the action of the torsion spring by rotating in
b
oth directions to ensure the spring and retainer are
installed properly.
12. Be sure the armature plate tabs are fully engaged into
th
e roll cage assembly and are resting on the cut-
grooves of the ring gear.
NOTE: Verify armature plate tabs are in the slots on
the
roll cage and are resting in the ring gear grooves.
13. Install the output hub and cover plate assembly with
a
new o-ring (arrow) onto the gearcase.
NOTE: Verify the square O-ring (arrow) is placed flat
on t
he cover surface. If the O-ring is twisted, fluid
leaks may occur.
