4.2 Control Cubicle
4.2.1 Cleaning Instructions
The control cubicle contains all the electrical components such as the PLC; inverters safety
contactors etc. which control the machine. It is located above the working area of the machine.
This ensures the cubicle is away from the wash down area and reduces the chances of damage
due to product and water ingress.
The control cubicle is of stainless steel construction with seal around the doors. It should only
require cleaning with a damp cloth or sanitised wipes. Under no circumstances should any water or
cleaning fluids be directed at the cubicle.
4.2.2 Control Cubicle Maintenance Checks
When cleaning the control cubicle; carry out the following checks and report any damage to your
supervisor or an engineer:
• Check the seal integrity of the door seals.
• Check the cable glands are secure and the cables are in good condition.
• Check the isolator switch is secure and functions correctly.
• Check the hinges are secure
