2 Yearly (Including yearly)
1. Replace the air preparation filter.
6.8 Tooling Maintenance
6.8.1 Daily Pre-Start Routine
1. Lubricate base tool eject guide rods and with fine Foodlube spray oil.
2. Check condition of seal and clamp rubber and replace as necessary.
3. Ensure that the top tool seal profiles are free from contamination and any special coatings are in
good condition. (It may be possible to refurbish the seal profile if damaged. If in doubt consult
Proseal. All other faulty parts should be replaced. See spares list for part numbers)
4. Check all the air and gas connections and hoses (If fitted)
5. Check base tools are free from product and cleaning solutions
6.8.2 Weekly (Including Daily Tasks)
1. Inspect trimblade teeth for damage and redress or replace as necessary. Take care when
handling trimblades as they are very sharp.
2. Inspect top-tool conduits and thermocouples for damage and replace as necessary
3. Check seal blocks for misplaced or broken seal and clamp springs
4. Inspect tool for any wear on the mechanical components as this may be a sign of misaligned
or damaged components.
5. Ensure that the base tool seal and clamp rubbers are intact and in good condition. Damaged or
incomplete seal rubbers will reduce the seal quality which could allow the modified gas to
escape and spoil the product. Damaged clamp rubbers will degrade the seal integrity of the tool
when performing vacuum and gas operations. This could lead to extended cycle times increased
gas consumption and reduced quality.
6. When reassembling components ensure the correct size and length of fastener are used and
that gas; electrical connections and seals are not damaged or trapped.
6.8.3 Monthly (Including Weekly Tasks)
1. Check the performance of the heating elements. A seal block which is slow to heat up may
indicate a damaged heater element or thermocouple.
6.8.4 Quarterly (Including Monthly Tasks)
1. Inspect blades and blade carriers for contamination and damage.
2. Check performance and condition of seal and clamp springs.
3. Check that all shoulder screws and guide bushes are in good condition and do not show signs of
wear.
4. Check the condition of the heater mats and replace any which are cracked or have exposed
elements.
5. Check that seal profiles are in good condition and are flat. If the profiles have a surface coating
(e.g. “TEFLON”) ensure it is not damaged or worn. Replace as necessary. (It may be possible to
refurbish the seal profile if damaged. If in doubt consult Proseal. All other faulty parts should be
replaced. See spares list for part numbers)
