6.2 General Safety Considerations
WARNING! The following safety precautions must be adhered to at all times, failure to do so may
result in serious injury or death.
Always check the machine prior to commencement of operation for any non-conformance.
Always Report and log any defects, damage, malfunctions or misalignments found whilst operating
the Proseal GTR machine. Report all matters to the supervisor immediately, no matter how minor
they appear to be.
Do not carry out any operation unless you have read and understood the operating instructions
contained in this document.
Never operate the Proseal GTR machine, with any personnel inside the guarded area.
If in doubt, ASK the supervisor in charge.
6.3 Routine Maintenance
6.3.1 Pneumatics
Efficient operation of your GTR machine is dependent on several pneumatically powered
components. The minimal maintenance detailed below will pay dividends in minimising any
problems in the long term.
MACHINE AIR SUPPLY
A clean dry air supply at sufficient pressure is essential for enduring satisfactory operation of the
machine. Your machine is fitted with a combined regulator / drying filter. This component is
essential to protect your machine from contaminated air.
AIR PRESSURE
Ensure the air pressure regulator is set at 5 to 6 Bar to provide the recommended operating
pressure for your machine.
MOISTURE REMOVAL
Ensure the water filter is operating correctly; water carrying over to pneumatic components will
cause damage. Drain the filter regularly at the drain plug / valve. Check automatic drains are
operating correctly.
PNEUMATIC COMPONENTS
At regular intervals check air cylinder speeds for smoothness. Annually inspect and overhaul all
pneumatic components.
GAS FLUSHING COMPONENTS
At regular intervals check air cylinder speeds for smoothness. Annually inspect and overhaul all
pneumatic components.
