6.4.2 Tool Changing
The tooling could be very hot; gloves must be worn when changing tools.
1. Remove both base tools from the table.
2. On the main panel, switch the mains isolator to the off “0” position.
3. Open the rear guard.
4. Unplug the heater and thermocouple leads from the machine sockets.
5. Remove the four hand nuts on the tool pressure plate.
6. Slide the top tool towards the back of the machine and lift out onto an appropriate safe surface.
(The tool may still be hot, try and reduce the risk t
o other persons).
7. Replace with desired top tool.
8. Slide the tool into the machine pressure plate.
9. Replace four hand nuts and tighten them up.
10. Plug in heater and thermocouple leads into the machine sockets.
11. The mains isolator may now be switched to the on “1” position.
12. Fit matching, to the top tool, base tools onto the table.
CAUTION: -
It is important that this routine is carried out in the correct sequence, as the fitting of an incorrect
base tool and top tool set will result in damage to both components.
