7.1 Prior to each use
Check ropes and lashings.
Check furling sections for external signs of damage.
Check the functioning of manual operation.
Check hydraulic couplings for external signs of damage and leaks.

Risk of damage to gear through penetration by water
Do not point a pressure washer at the winch handle socket.
Rinse off all parts with fresh water.

7.3 Annual maintenance
The furling system must be dismantled in a shipyard for annual maintenance. See 9 Disassembly.
The following tasks and checks must be carried out within the scope of annual maintenance:
Remove all contaminants and salt deposits.
Check the forestay for damage.
Check the ease of movement of the halyard swivel.
Replace the lashings and shackles.
Polish stainless steel parts.

7.4 Every five years
The following parts must be serviced by an authorised service station every five years:
Drive unit with adjuster
Halyard swivel
