If the Transfer Unit is removed or reattached while holding Gear 31Z (Transfer Unit Drive
Gear), the gear can come off the end of the drive shaft. Sometimes, the pin may also come
off the shaft and fall into the machine.
When removing or re-installing the Transfer Unit, do not hold the unit by this gear. Also, do
not remove this gear when servicing the transfer unit if it is not necessary. After reinstalling
the transfer unit, always verify that the gear and pin are installed properly.
