Robotiq Screwdriving Solution - Instruction Manual
Reclaiming wheel is
not moving or
moving abnormally
The reclaiming isnot feeding
screwsto the rail and the LED
flashesred.
1. Check for blockage along the blades of the wheel. In this
situation, it isnormal for the wheel to move back and forth
in order to try and free the blockage.
2. Check if the < Ready > I/O israised. This would mean that
an obstruction likely triggered the front sensor asif there
were a screw ready to be picked, and prevents the normal
operation of the Screw Feeder.
3. Check the amount of screwsin the chamber. Too many
screwsin the chamber can prevent the wheel from rotating
properly.
The I/O signalson
the Screw Feeder
do not function
properly
The I/O cable isconnected to the
Screw Feeder and robot
controller, but does not display
Low and High statescorrectly.
1. Make sure the cable, including the ground port (GRN) is cor-
rectly plugged in.
2. Make sure you use the correct PNP/ NPN setting. For
Universal Robots, the switch should be toggled to PNP.
The rail or
singulator
adjustment knob is
stuck
The rail or singulator plates
cannot be closed or opened,
because the knob cannot be
turned easily.
DO NOT APPLYEXCESSIVE FORCE TO THE ADJUSTMENT
KNOBS; THISMAYRESULT IN PERMANENT DAMAGE.
Most likely a screw fell in between moving partsof the adjustment
mechanism, thus preventing its normal operation.
First, empty the rail manually and try to locate the blockage.
Blockages in thissituation happen mostly at the very back or the
very front of the rail.
Second, try opening the rail or singulator at its maximum. Then,
holding the feeder firmly in your hands, tilt and shake the machine
so that the screw falls in the reservoir. In certain situations, a long
tool, such as a screwdriver, can be used to reach the blockage
and help clear the screws.
