LAYout:WINDow<n>:ADD? <Direction>,<WindowType>
This command adds a measurement window to the display. Note that with this com-
mand, the suffix <n> determines the existing window next to which the new window is
added, as opposed to LAYout:ADD[:WINDow]?, for which the existing window is
defined by a parameter.
To replace an existing window, use the LAYout:WINDow<n>:REPLace command.
This command is always used as a query so that you immediately obtain the name of
the new window as a result.
Parameters:
<Direction> LEFT | RIGHt | ABOVe | BELow
<WindowType> Type of measurement window you want to add.
See LAYout:ADD[:WINDow]? on page 284 for a list of availa-
ble window types.
Return values:
<NewWindowName> When adding a new window, the command returns its name (by
default the same as its number) as a result.
Example:
LAY:WIND1:ADD? LEFT,MTAB
Result:
'2'
Adds a new window named '2' with a marker table to the left of
window 1.
Usage: Query only
LAYout:WINDow<n>:IDENtify?
This command queries the name of a particular display window (indicated by the <n>
suffix).
Note: to query the index of a particular window, use the LAYout:IDENtify[:
WINDow]? command.
Return values:
<WindowName> String containing the name of a window.
In the default state, the name of the window is its index.
Usage: Query only
LAYout:WINDow<n>:REMove

The result of this command is identical to the LAYout:REMove[:WINDow] command.
