Using the advanced communications facilities on the series 725 annunciator, it is possible to connect
the unit to a variety of 3
rd
party devices to monitor or control the alarm annunciator.
Any 3
rd
party device equipped with either a RS485 or a RS232 port using modbus protocol can be
connected to the P725 annunciator.
Please note:-
If the RS232 port of the 3
rd
party device is used a RS485 / 232 converter will be required.
The P725 annunciator always operates as a slave device and it is therefore only able to read and
write following requests from the master device.
Various parameters of the communications are user configurable using DIL switches on the
communications card.
In larger applications up to 63 separate annunciators can be connected to a single communication
network to allow remote monitoring by 3
rd
party equipment.
In addition to the annunciation RTK can also supply suitable alarm management software pre-
installed onto a single computer or as part of a complete plant wide alarm management system.
