Cash Register Settings
To communicate with your SAM4s SPS-300 Series ECR, you must set the RS232C port for
the PC function.
Setting the RS232C Port Options
You must select ‘PC’ as the device that is attached to the RS-232C communications port.
You must define the device(s) attached to the RS-232C communications ports, and the
options for the device(s).
Setting RS232C Port Options
1. At the S control lock position menu, press 8 for RS232C programming. The port
selection screen displays.
2. Enter the digit (1-4) corresponding to the port you wish to program. The appropriate
PORT PROGRAM screen displays:

3. Be sure that the register BAUD RATE settings match the store information settings (see
"Creating a New Store" on page 14.) Note the maximum BAUD for PC communications
is 57,600.
4. Press PAGE DOWN to view the page 2 of the RS232C port program:

5. At the DEVICE FUNCTION field, choose 1(PC).
6. Press ENTER to finalize and then press the CLEAR key to return to the SERVICE
MODE screen.
