Adjusting the Timing Belt Tension
(Gearbox)
Required tool:
• Phillips screwdriver
1 Make sure that the printer is in power off mode, then disconnect the power cord from
the AC outlet.
2 Open the rear housing covers of the printer.
Refer to Section 5.1.1 Opening the Rear Housing Cover for details.
3 Locate the gearbox as shown below.
4 Loosen the screw of the tension bracket A, the screw of the tension bracket B
and the screw of the tension link.
Important: Do not remove the screws.
The tension of the timing belts will be adjusted automatically by the spring pressure.
5 Tighten the screws that were loosened in step 4.
6 If the tension of the timing belt is not enough, replace the timing belt.
Refer to Section 5.9.1 Replacing the Timing Belt of Gearbox for details.
7 Perform the assembly with the reverse procedure.
