Replacing the Top Cover Sensor
Required tool:
• Phillips screwdriver
1 Make sure that the printer is in power off mode, then disconnect the power cord from
the AC outlet.
2 Open the top cover of the printer.
CAUTION
Open the top cover fully to prevent accidental drop of the cover.
3 Remove two screws and remove the
USB assembly .
Place the USB assembly aside.
Note
For S84-ex printer, there is no post as shown in the
picture. The USB assembly is attached directly to the
printer center frame.
4 Disconnect the sensor cable from the
connector.
5 Remove two screws attaching the top
cover sensor to the front housing
casing.
6 Replace the defective top cover
sensor .
7 Perform the assembly with the reverse
procedure.
After replacement
• Check the top cover open error message.
