Chapter 6 Control system diagram
SMSO-2-02.06- 15.07.03 181
6.5 Trouble-shooting electrical circuits
6.5.1 Power supply line
Operating conditions
When the power disconnection unit (switch, plug unit, FI switch) is switched on, the machine is supplied with mains power in
accordance with the rating plate. The connection terminals differ, depending on the mains supply.
Symptoms
The machine is completely, or partially without power.
Procedure
NOTE: Testing and repair work to electrical equipment provided by customers must be carried out only by authorised and quali-
fied electricians.
Process
step
Check Possible cause Remedy
1
Check if bridges are present on
the neutral conductor / protective
conductor, or the L! terminals.
Missing bridge Install bridges and check that the
connection is made (measure at
no voltage with ohmmeter)
2
Take voltage measurement at the
connection terminals to the ma-
chine:
3x230/400V; 3x240/415V:
L1; N 230-240 V AC ?
L2; N 230-240 V AC ?
L3; N 230-240 V AC ?
3x125/200V:
L1; L2 200 V AC ?
L1; L3 200 V AC ?
Mains disconnection unit switched
off
Break in cable (individual wires) or
cable has been pulled out of the
terminal.
Individual fuses faulty
Faults in customer’s own installa-
tion
Switch on main power units
Disconnect machine from mains
power.
Insert the connectors into the
connection point, and if necessary
test the mains cable.
Replace fuses
Test and repair of customer’s
installation by a qualified electrici-
an.
3
Take voltage measurement at the
connection terminals to the:
machine (protective conductor
test)
3x230/400V; 3x240/415V:
L1; PE 230-240 V AC ?
3x125/200V:
L1; PE 125 V AC ?
NOTE: If a fault current protective
switch is installed in the connector
lead, this may trigger as a result of
the measurement current.
They will then measure no voltage
even though the protective con-
ductor on the mains connection is
working correctly.
Interruption on protective conduc-
tor
Check the protective conductor
connections on the machine.
For connection via mains plug
device: Disconnect the machine
from the mains and test / replace
the mains cable / mains plug unit.
