Return bypass open: Excess water flows back to the inlet side
of the pump
MATERIAL DAMAGE
The rotary-vane type pump contains com-
ponents that are susceptible to damage
from knocks or from pressure, and which
may be damaged if handled incorrectly.
For this reason it is essential that the pump
is enclosed in padding during transport. It
must not be exposed to knocks or shocks,
must not be allowed to fall, or put under
stress in any way. (in a vice, clamps etc.)

Maintenance
Most frequent faults:
No water, pump running dry
Dirt or foreign bodies in the pump housing
Calcium deposits Sliding hatch blocked, pump running
unbalanced and producing loud noise.
Bypass system and valve seat are calcified: Water
pressure not constant.
O-rings in the control system are worn, defective, or have
lost their seal.
Check
Motor and pump together:
Place a screwdriver to the rear side of the motor and turn the
shaft round a few times. It must be possible to turn the shaft
easily, always at the same resistance. Check for noise emis-
sion: Faulty bearings or a faulty pump produce loud (scratch-
ing) noise during operation.
Service intervals
After every 45,000 coffee servings or after 12 months of op-
eration check the following:
Check for water tightness, noise emissions, and for any
blockages.
Dismantle the control set, clean or replace it (part no.
065706), fit (lightly grease the O-ring with 067399 food
grease)
Set pump pressure (7-7.5 bar) against closed system
Motor Check the bearings for noise (including output test)
Input filter: Calcium deposits, dirt, water-tightness, defects
Hose connection: Water-tightness, defects on the exterior
After 36 months of operation, replace:
the filter at the pump inlet
the hose connection
