9.1 Description of the graphical user interface
Figure 37: Graphical user interface
The Ranger3 Studio application is part of the Ranger3 SDK (see "Installing PC soft‐
ware", page 31). You use its graphical user interface (GUI) to configure camera param‐
eters and evaluate the measurement results. It is also useful when you mount the
camera and laser, and adjust focus and aperture.
The GUI offers different ways to visualize the data. You can also store data to file
for later use. You can change the settings for the camera and instantly see how the
changes affect the measurement result. The GUI is therefore useful for finding the best
parameter settings for a certain application.
Once the camera has been set up to deliver measurement data that meets the require‐
ments, the settings can be saved in a parameter file on the PC.
9.1.1 Menus
Figure 38: Menus
Four menus are available.
The File menu includes options to handle configuration files, loading and saving buffers,
and exit the application.
The Device menu includes options to handle parameter settings, different logs, and
updating the firmware.
The Settings menu includes the option to show parts of the images.
The Help menu includes options to get further help with and knowledge about the
application, for example, the application version.
