Condensation in the device
Damage to device through formation of condensation if the temperature di󹪜erence between
transportation or storage and the mounting location exceeds 20°C (36°F).
• Before taking the device into operation, let the device adapt for several hours in the new
environment.
Note
Improvement of interference immunity
• Lay signal cables separate from cables with voltages >60V.
• Use cables with twisted wires.
• Keep device and cables at a distance from strong electromagnetic 󹪝elds.
• Take account of the conditions for communication speci󹪝ed in the Technical speci󹪝cations
SITRANS CC220 (Page63).
• Use ethernet cables cat 5e/cat 6 to guarantee the full speci󹪝cation according to IEC11801
rated for 70°C.
4.2 Connecting SITRANS CC220
4.2.1 Connecting the functional grounding
A connected functional grounding discharges electrical charges from the metal enclosure.
The functional grounding also improves the discharge of interference generated by external
power cables, signal cables or cables for I/O modules to ground.
The connection for the functional grounding is labeled with the following symbol:
