18. Place the cylinder head properly on locating dowels
(Fig.K.19 )
Note: Do not insert screwdriver or any other sharp
instrument between the cylinder head and block.
14. Lift and removal the cylinder head. Place the cylinder
head on a flat surface, preferably wood, to avoid
damages.(Fig.K.18 )
15. Remove the cylinder head gasket.
16. Ensure both gasket faces of the cylinder block and
cylinder head are cleaned properly.
Place the gasket on locating dowels with “top mark” on
gasket towards cylinder head. This gasket should
13. Loosen and release the cylinder head setscrews as
per the sequence shown. Remove the setscrews.

19. Screw the cylinder head mounting bolts and tighten
the bolts uniformly in sequence to 165 Nm (122 lbf.
ft) in first turn using torque wrench. (Fig.K.20 )
