Malfunction Cause Remedy
No lubricant at
lubrication points
o Main metering device or secondary metering device is defective
- Can be detected if no grease can be pressed through the distribu-
tor after removing all union nuts or fittings at the outlets.
o Check the flow in the main metering device and secondary meter-
ing device
- Sequentially remove union nuts or fittings at the outlets; check
valves may be built into the outlet fittings.
- Trigger intermediate lubrication.
- The progressive metering device is functioning properly if signifi-
cant grease discharge is seen at all outlets.
- Replace the progressive metering device if grease does not dis-
charge at all outlets.
Note!
The metering and arrangement of sections on the new progressive
metering device must be identical to the disassembled (defective)
metering device.
• Replace the progressive metering device
- Loosen all fittings, mark lines, secure
against outside influences
• Install a new progressive metering device
• Install lubrication lines in the correct or-
der as marked previously
• Only use original SKF spare parts!
• Perform start-up and functional
inspection.
o Defective or blocked secondary feed line • Detach feed line, identify cause of
blockage, replace secondary feed line if
