• Machine set screws are loose
• Adjust all set screws until all set screws are resting on the supplied discs
• Drive belts are not tight, or worn
• Adjust or replace the belts
• Chips inside the spindle bore
• Check the spindle bore for chips and remove these if necessary
• Work piece or chuck unbalanced
• Cutting plate not on the correct center height
• Check the center height of the cutting plate
• Overhang of the tool holder to big
• Place the tool as close to the tool holder as possible
• Cutting speed not correct
• Increase or decrease the cutting speed
• Increase or decrease the feedrate
• Gib of the X-axis is loose
• Product is not supported well
• Use the steady rest or tailstock
Clamp the product as close to the chuck as possible
• Too much play of the main spindle
• Replace or adjust the main spindle bearings
Straight product is conical after
cutting
• Too much pressure during cutting procedure
• Use a minimum cutting depth during the final cutting procedure.
• Work piece improperly supported
• Make sure the maximum work piece overhang is 3 times the diameter.
• Machine is not levelled well
• Check the levelling of the machine
• Gearbox alignment is not correct
• Adjust the alignment of the gearbox (only when the frame is levelled)
• Play on the main spindle bearings
• Adjust or replace the bearings
• Clamping of the chuck insufficient
• Check the jaws of the chuck and check the lubrication
• Centers excessively worn
• Replace a new center, or grind the damaged center
• Improper electric connection
• Check voltage on phases, check main switches
Spindle rotating wrong direction
• Wrong sequence of phases
• Check connection, switch two phase-wires
Motor does not reach working

• Check voltage on phases
• Lower feed rate or cutting speed
Motor vibrates or is noisy
• Motor pulley loose or damaged
• Tighten or replace pulley
• Motor axle bend or damaged
• Motor mounting plate loose
• Tighten motor mounting plate
• Machine on unstable foundation
• Level machine using precision rule according to procedure
• Serpentine belt worn or loose
• Mount new serpentine belt
