Maintenance Guidelines for Vehicles Used in Severe
Conditions
The following list is meant as a guide and is not all inclusive:
SEVERE CONDITIONS refer to operation:
n In extreme temperatures
n On bumpy, dusty, or ill maintained roads
n In excessively wet areas
n In corrosive or contaminated areas
n At or near maximum capacity for more than 50% of the operating time
n On multiple shifts
Severe Duty Maintenance Guidelines:
If this vehicle is operate in severe conditions all maintenance items listed in the Periodic
Maintenance Table should be carried out twice as often as stated. In addition, the whole
vehicle should be inspected monthly for signs of damage and repaired immediately.
n Inspect and maintain battery limit switches, protective devices, electrical
conductors, and connections in conformance with Taylor-Dunn’s recom-
mended procedures.
n Keep the vehicle in clean condition to minimize fire hazards and facilitate
detection of loose or defective parts.
Periodic maintenance and service must be performed on this
vehicle. Failure to complete these scheduled maintenance and
service procedures can result in personal injury, and/or property
damage. It is the owner and/or operators responsibility to insure
that proper service and maintenance is performed on the vehicle,
described in this manual.
