Write-Protect Function (Where Appropriate)
When the write protect switch is set to “unlocked” (open padlock symbol), data
can be written to and read from the USB stick. When the write protect switch is
set to “locked” (closed padlock symbol), data can be read from the USB stick, but
no data can be written to the USB stick.
Caution
Write protection may not be activated or deactivated when the USB stick
is plugged in.
To lock or unlock the write protection unplug the USB stick. After plugged in, wait
a minimum of 15 sec before continuing operation.
4.4.5 USB Stick Data Management
One unique USB stick should be used per instrument in order to avoid mix up.
Depending on the amount of data resulting from measurements, data backup
from the USB stick to a PC is recommended once a week. Data should be stored
additionally on durable storage media (CD, DVD, floppy…).
Available memory space on the USB stick should be verified every time before
usage. Backed up data on different media and no more useful for further
measurements can be deleted from the USB stick if expected data amount
exceeds free memory. Use the Delete function of the MagellanCE software from
the “Archive files” menu.
