Cleaning the Q00 Ion Optics

Reassembling the Ion Optics Cage Assembly
To reassemble and mount the Q00/L0 assembly
1. Reinstall the Q00 assembly on the Q00/L0 mount:
a. Orient the Q00 assembly so that the guide pin on the Q00/L0 mount inserts into the
guide pin hole in the Q00 assembly.
b. Secure the Q00 assembly with the 3 Q00 mounting screws.
2. Reinstall the Q00/L0 mount assembly in the ion optics cage:
a. Orient the Q00/L0 mount assembly so that the lead pins are closest to the lead wires
in the ion optics cage.
b. Press the Q00/L0 assembly into the ion optics cage. See Figure 57 on page 96.
3. Use needle nose pliers to carefully reconnect the top rf lead wire to the top Q00 lead pin
and the bottom rf lead wire to the bottom Q00 lead pin.
4. Reinstall the Q0 mount assembly onto the ion optics cage:
a. Orient the Q0 mount assembly so that the flat side is on the same side as the two
contacts.
b. Secure the Q0 mount assembly on the ion optics cage with the 3 Q0 mounting
screws. See Figure 57 on page 96.
