Anacpoweradapterproblem
Problem:Theacpoweradapterisconnectedtothecomputerandtheworkingelectricaloutlet,butthe
poweradapter(powerplug)iconisnotdisplayedonthewindowsnotificationarea.Alsothesystem-status
indicatordoesnotblink.
Solution:Dothefollowing:
1.Ensurethattheconnectionoftheacpoweradapteriscorrect.Forinstructionsonconnectingtheac
poweradapter,seeSafety,Warranty,andSetupGuidethatcomeswithyourcomputer.
2.Iftheconnectionoftheacpoweradapteriscorrect,turnoffthecomputer,thendisconnecttheac
poweradapter.
3.Reconnecttheacpoweradapter,thenturnonthecomputer.
4.Ifthepoweradaptericonstillisnotdisplayedonthewindowsnotificationareaandthesystem-status
indicatordoesnotblink,havetheacpoweradapterandyourcomputerserviced.

Printtheseinstructionsnowandkeeptheinstructionswithyourcomputerforreferencelater.
Ifyourcomputerisgettingnopoweratall,checkthefollowingitems:
1.Verifythepowerbutton.Referto“Statusindicators”onpage6.Thepowerbuttonislitwheneverthe
computerison.
2.Checkallpowerconnections.Removeanypowerstripsandsurgeprotectorstoconnecttheacpower
adapterdirectlytotheacpoweroutlet.
3.Inspecttheacpoweradapter.Checkforanyphysicaldamage,andensurethatthepowercableisfirmly
attachedtotheadapterbrickandthecomputer.
4.Verifytheacpowersourceisworkingbyattachinganotherdevicetotheoutlet.
Ifyourcomputerdoesnotrunonbatterypower,dothefollowing:
1.Ifthebatteryrunsoutofpower,attachacpoweradaptertorechargethebattery.
2.Ifthebatteryischargedbutthecomputerdoesnotrun,callLenovoCustomerServiceCentertohave
itserviced.
Apowerbuttonproblem
Problem:Thesystemdoesnotrespond,andyoucannotturnoffthecomputer.
Solution:Turnoffthecomputerbypressingandholdingthepowerbuttonfor4secondsormore.Ifthe
systemisstillnotreset,removetheacpoweradapterandresetthesystembyinsertingastraightenedpaper
clipintotheemergency-resethole.Tolocatetheemergency-resethole,referto“Bottomview”onpage5.
