notconsumeanypower.Thewake-upfunctionisdisabledbydefault.Ifyouputyourcomputerinto
hibernationmodewiththewake-upfunctionenabled,thecomputerconsumesasmallamountofpower.
Toenablethewake-upfunction,dothefollowing:
1.GotoControlPanelandclickS
ystemandSecurity.
2.ClickAdministrativeTools.
3.ClickT askScheduler.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconfirmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconfirmation.
4.Fromtheleftpane,selectthetaskfolderforwhichyouwanttoenablethewake-upfunction.The
scheduledtasksaredisplayed.
5.Clickascheduledtask,andthenclicktheConditionstab.
6.UnderPower,selectthecheckboxforWakethecomputertorunthistask.
Toputthecomputerintohibernationmode,changeyourpowerplansettingsbydoingthefollowing:
ForWindows7:StartthePowerManagerprogramandthenclickthePowerPlantab.Thenfollow
theinstructionsonthescreen.ForinstructionsonhowtostartthePowerManagerprogram,see

ForWindows8.1:Gotothedesktop.Right-clickthebattery-statusiconintheWindowsnotification
areaandclickMorePowerOptions,clickChangeplansettingsthatisnexttoyourpowerplan,
anthenfollowtheinstructionsonthescreen.
Wirelessoff
Whenyouarenotusingthewirelessfeatures,suchasBluetoothorwirelessLAN,turnthemoff.Thiswill
helpconservepower.Toturnoffthewirelessfeatures,pressthewireless-switchingkey
.
Connectingtothenetwork
YourcomputerhasoneormorenetworkcardsthatenableyoutoconnectyourcomputertotheInternet
andothernetworkconnections.
Ethernetconnections
You can connect your computer to a local network or a broadband connection through a supported
ThinkPad OneLink Dock, or a supported ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock.
DANGER
To avoid the risk of electrical shock, do not connect the telephone cable to the Ethernet connector
on a ThinkPad OneLink Dock, or a ThinkPad OneLink Pro Dock.
Wirelessconnections
Wirelessconnectionisthetransferofdatawithouttheuseofcablesbutbymeansofradiowavesonly.
Attention:
Ifyouwanttousethewirelessfeaturesonanairplane,checkthewirelessserviceswiththeairlinebefore
boardingtheairplane.
