ToexittheThinkPadSetupprogramandrestartthecomputer,selectRestartfromtheThinkPadSetupmenu.
Thefollowingsubmenuitemsaredisplayed:
•ExitSavingChanges:Savethechangesandrestartthecomputer.
•ExitDiscardingChanges:Discardthechangesandrestartthecomputer.
Note:ThechangesofthefollowingsubmenuitemswillnotbediscardedandcanberesetinThinkPad
Setupmenu:
–Date&Time
–Supervisorpassword
–Power-onpassword
–Harddiskpassword
•LoadSetupDefaults:Restoretothefactorydefaultsettings.
Note:EnableOSOptimizedDefaultstomeettheWindows8.1certificationrequirements.Whenyou
changethissetting,someothersettingsarechangedautomatically,suchasCSMSupport,UEFI/Legacy
Boot,SecureBoot,andSecureRollBackPrevention.EnsurethatyoudonotenabletheOSOptimized
DefaultsifyourcomputerisonlyinstalledwiththeWindows7operatingsystem.
•DiscardChanges:Discardthechanges.

UpdatingtheUEFIBIOS
TheUEFIBIOSisthefirstprogramthatthecomputerrunswhenthecomputeristurnedon.TheUEFIBIOS
initializesthehardwarecomponents,andloadstheoperatingsystemandotherprograms.
YoucanupdatetheUEFIBIOSbystartingyourcomputerfromaflashupdateopticaldiscoraflashupdate
programrunningintheWindowsenvironment.Whenyouinstallanewprogram,adevicedriver,orhardware,
youmightbeinformedtoupdatetheUEFIBIOS.
