BeforeyouinstallamemorycardsuchasanSDcard,SDHCcard,SDXCcard,andaMultiMediaCard,
touchametaltableoragroundedmetalobject.Thisactionreducesanystaticelectricityfromyour
body.Staticelectricitycoulddamagethedevice.
Whentransferringdatatoorfromaflashmediacard,suchasanSDcard,donotputyourcomputerin
sleeporhibernationmodebeforethedatatransferiscomplete;otherwise,yourdatacouldbecome
damaged.
Takingcareinsettingpasswords
Rememberyourpasswords.Ifyouforgetasupervisororharddiskpassword,Lenovowillnotresetit,and
youmighthavetoreplacethesystemboardorthestoragedrive.

Besurenottomodifyyourcomputer
OnlyanauthorizedThinkPadrepairtechnicianshoulddisassembleandrepairyourcomputer.
Donotmodifyortapethelatchestokeepthedisplayopenorclosed.
Cleaningthecoverofyourcomputer
Occasionallycleanyourcomputerbydoingthefollowing:
1.Prepareamixtureofagentlekitchen-usedetergent(onethatdoesnotcontainabrasivepowderor
strongchemicalssuchasacidoralkaline).Use5partswaterto1partdetergent.
2.Absorbthediluteddetergentintoasponge.
3.Squeezeexcessliquidfromthesponge.
4.Wipethecoverwiththesponge,usingacircularmotionandtakingcarenottoletanyexcessliquiddrip.
5.Wipethesurfacetoremovethedetergent.
6.Rinsethespongewithcleanrunningwater.
7.Wipethecoverwiththecleansponge.
8.Wipethesurfaceagainwithadry,soft,lint-freecloth.
9.Waitforthesurfacetodrycompletelyandremoveanyfibersfromthecloth.
Cleaningyourcomputerkeyboard
Tocleanthecomputerkeyboard,dothefollowing:
1.Applysomeisopropylrubbingalcoholtoasoft,dust-freecloth.
Note:Avoidsprayingcleanerdirectlyontothedisplayorthekeyboard.
2.Wipeeachkeytopsurfacewiththecloth.Wipethekeysonebyone;ifyouwipeseveralkeysatatime,
theclothmighthookontoanadjacentkeyandpossiblydamageit.Ensurethatnoliquiddripsonto
orbetweenthekeys.
3.Allowtodry.
4.Toremoveanycrumbsordustfrombeneaththekeys,youcanuseacamerablowerwithabrush
orcoolairfromahairdryer.
