wirelessfeaturesofyourcomputerbeforeboarding.
Dependingonthewirelessdevicesinstalledonyourcomputer,youmightbeabletousethefollowing
wirelessnetworks:
•WirelessLANconnection
•Bluetoothconnection
•NFCconnection
UsingthewirelessLANconnection
Awirelesslocalareanetwork(LAN)coversarelativelysmallgeographicarea,suchasanofficebuildingora
house.Devicesbasedonthe802.11standardscanconnecttothistypeofnetwork.
Yourcomputercomeswithawirelessnetworkcardandaconfigurationutilitytohelpyouestablishwireless
connectionsandmonitortheconnectionstatus.Thisenablesyoutostayconnectedtoyournetworkwhile
youareattheoffice,inameetingroom,orathome,withnoneedforawiredconnection.
ToestablishawirelessLANconnection,dothefollowing:
ForWindows7:
1.Pressthewireless-switchingkeyandfollowtheinstructionsonthescreentoenablethewireless
feature.
2.Clickthewireless-network-connection-statusiconintheWindowsnotificationarea.Alistofavailable
wirelessnetworksisdisplayed.
3.Double-clickanetworktoconnecttoit.Providerequiredinformationifneeded.

1.Gotothedesktopandclickthewireless-network-connection-statusiconintheWindowsnotification
area.Alistofavailablewirelessnetworksisdisplayed.

Toachievethebestconnection,usethefollowingguidelines:
•PlaceyourcomputersothatthereareasfewobstaclesaspossiblebetweenthewirelessLANaccess
pointandthecomputer.
•Openyourcomputerlidtoanangleofslightlymorethan90degrees.
•Ifyouusethewirelessfeature(the802.11standards)ofyourcomputersimultaneouslywithaBluetooth
option,thedatatransmissionspeedcanbedelayedandtheperformanceofthewirelessfeaturecanbe
degraded.
