TestingtheElectricalComponents
Wheneverpossible,checkthecomponentcircuitoperationwiththeInfoCenter
displayontheconsole.WiththekeyswitchintheRUNposition,usethe
InfoCenterdiagnosticsmenutoensurethatthecomponentstatechangesas
thecomponentistoggled.Thisquickcheckidentiesthatthecomponentand
circuitwiringareworkingasdesigned.IftheInfoCenteroperationsuggests
thatacomponentcircuitisnotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedtotheappropriate
componenttestingprocedurefoundinthissection.Ifthetestprocedure
identiesnoproblemwiththecomponent,carefullyinspectthewireharness
andconnectorsforproblems.
TheGreensmastereFlexusesa53VDC(nominal)electricalsystemthatisan
isolatedcircuit.Themachineframeisnotusedforanygroundconnections.
Foraccurateresistanceand/orcontinuitychecks,electricallydisconnectthe
componentbeingtestedfromthecircuit(e.g.,unplugthekeyswitchconnector
beforedoingacontinuitycheckonswitch).Individualcomponentsshouldbe
electricallyisolated(e.g.,disconnectalltheleadsorremovetheleadsfromthe
circuit)fromthecircuitwhentested.
CAUTION
Whentestingamachineelectricalcomponentforcontinuity
withamultimeter(ohmssetting),ensurethatthecomponentis
disconnectedfromthemachinewireharnesstopreventcurrentow
throughthecomponent.
CAUTION
Removeallthejewelry,especiallyringsandwatches,beforedoing
anyelectricaltroubleshootingortesting.Disconnectthelithium
batterypacktoopenthebatterycircuitbeforeworkingonthe
electricalsystem.
