Thespeedcontrolpotentiometercontrolstheelectricmotorspeedwhich
determinesthetractionandcuttingunitspeed.TheTECusesthepotentiometer
settingasaninputtodeterminethenecessarysignaloutputforthemotor
controllerforcorrectelectricmotorspeed.Thespeedcontrolpotentiometeris
attachedtothespeedcontrolassemblyonthehandle(Figure110).
CheckingtheOperationofSpeedControlPotentiometer
ChecktheoperationofspeedcontrolpotentiometerwiththeInfoCenter.With
thekeyswitchintheRUNpositionandtheInfoCenterinthediagnosticsmenu,
choosetheThrottleandensurethatthedisplayedvoltagechangesasthespeed
wheelisrotated.Furtherpotentiometertestingisnecessaryonlyifthedisplayed
voltagedoesnotchangewhenusingtheInfoCenter.
TestingtheSpeedControlPotentiometer
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandplacethetractionleverinthe
NEUTRALposition.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethe
keyfromthekeyswitch.
