Thekeyswitchallowsthemachineoperationtobeturnedonandoff.Thekey
switchhas3positions:OFF,RUN,andSTART.Thisswitchis1oftheseveral
inputsfortheTECandislocatedontheswitchpanel(Figure98).
CheckthekeyswitchoperationwiththeInfoCenterontheconsole.Withthekey
switchintheRUNposition,theInfoCentershouldallowtheinformationscreen
tobedisplayed.WiththeInfoCenterinthediagnosticsmenu,choosetheKey
Startandensurethattheswitchstatechangesasthekeyswitchismovedto
theSTARTpositionandisthenreleased.IftheInfoCenteroperationsuggestsa
damagedkeyswitch,proceedtothekeyswitchtestingbelow.
Note:IftheeFlexmachineissittingidlefor5minuteswiththekeyswitchinthe
RUNposition,themachinewillshutoff.
Note:Adamagedkeyswitchmaycausea#12faulttobegeneratedand
displayedontheInfoCenter.RefertotheFaultsScreen(page5–26)for
informationonfaults.
TestingtheKeySwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandplacethetractionleverinthe
NEUTRALposition.TurnthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethe
keyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnectthebatterypack;refertoConnectingtheLithiumBatteryPack
(page5–7).
3.Removetheconsolecoverfromthehandletogetaccesstothekeyswitch
(Figure98).
4.Disconnectthewireharnesselectricalconnectorfromthekeyswitch.
