IMPORTANT
Airmustbepurgedfromthehydraulicsystemtoreducethechance
ofcomponentdamage.
Wheninitiallystartingthehydraulicsystemwithneworrebuiltcomponentssuch
aswheelmotors,pumps,orcylinders,itisimportantthatthehydraulicsystem
ischargedproperlytoremoveairfromthesystem.
IMPORTANT
Flushthehydraulicsystemwheneverthereisaseverecomponent
failureorthesystemiscontaminated;refertoFlushingtheHydraulic
System(page5–57).
1.ParkthemachineonalevelsurfaceandsetthekeyswitchtotheOFF
position.
2.Ensurethatallofthehydraulicconnectionsaresecuredtightly.
3.Ensurethatthehydraulictankisfull.Addthecorrectquantityandtypeof
hydraulicuidifnecessary;refertothetractionunitOperator’sManual.
4.Ifthepiston(traction)pumporthegearpumpwasreplacedorrepaired,prime
thehydraulicpumps;refertoPrimingtheHydraulicPumps(page5–63).
WARNING
ReviewandfollowtheJackingInstructions(page1–6)beforelifting
themachine.
5.Raiseallofthewheelsoffthegroundandsupportthemachinewithjack
stands.
6.Makesurethetractionpedalisinneutral,thenstarttheengineandletitidle
atlowspeed.Thehydraulicpumpsshouldpickuphydraulicuidandll
thehydraulicsystem.Ifthereisnoindicationofthesystemllingwithin30
seconds,stoptheengineanddeterminethecause.
IMPORTANT
Checkhydraulictankuidlevelfrequentlywhilechargingthesystem
andadduidifnecessary.
7.Afterthehydraulicsystemstartstoshowthesignsofll,operatethelift
valve(s)untiltheliftcylinder(s)moveinandoutseveraltimes.
8.Ifthecylinder(s)doesnotmoveafter15secondsorthepumpemitsabnormal
sounds:
A.ImmediatelysetthekeyswitchtotheOFFposition.
B.Makesurethehydraulicuidlterorthesuctionlineisnotloose.
C.Checkforincorrecthoserouting.
D.Ensurethatthesuctionlineisnotblocked.
E.Testtheimplement/chargepump(P2)fordamage.
