Theseatswitchisnormallyopenandcloseswhentheoperatorisontheseat.
Theseatswitchispartofthesafetyinterlocksystem.Theseatswitchislocated
directlyundertheseatcushion.T estingtheswitchcanbedonewithoutremoving
theseatbydisconnectingtheseatswitchwireharnessfromthemachinewire
harness.
TestingtheSeatSwitch
RefertoFigure81forthisprocedure.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachments,engagethe
parkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey
fromtheswitch.
2.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheseatswitch.Checkthe
harnessconnectorandswitchfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepair
ifnecessary.
3.Checkthecontinuityoftheswitchbyconnectingamultimeter(ohmssetting)
acrosstheswitchterminals.
A.Withnooperatorintheseat,shouldbenocontinuitybetweenthe
terminals.
B.Pressdirectlyontotheseatswitchthroughtheseatcushion.Thereshould
becontinuityastheseatcushionapproachesthebottomofitstravel.
4.Replacetheswitchifnecessary.
5.Iftheseatswitchtestingiscorrectandthecircuitproblemstillexists,check
themachinewireharness;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
6.Connectthewireharnessestotheswitchandtesttheseatswitchoperation
beforereturningthemachinetoservice.
