DisassemblingtheSteeringGearBox
1.Removetheretainingringthatsecuresthepiniongearassemblyinthe
steeringcover.Pullthepiniongearandbearingsfromthegearboxcover.
2.Removethefastenersthatsecurethegearboxplatetothegearboxcover.
3.Removethegearboxplate,gasket,shim(s)andthesectorgearfromthe
gearboxcover.
4.Ifnecessary,removethebearingsfromthepiniongear:
A.Removetheretainingringfromthepiniongearshaft.
B.Pressthebearingsandspacertubefromthepiniongearshaft.
C.Discardtheremovedbearings.
5.Ifnecessary,removethebushingsfromthegearboxcoverandthegear
boxplate.
6.Thoroughlycleanallthesteeringgearboxcomponents.Inspectthe
componentsforwearordamageandreplacethemifnecessary.
