TheSandPro3040/5040machinesuse2fusiblelinksforcircuitprotection.The
fusiblelinksarelocatedinthemachinewireharness.Onefusiblelinkconnects
thestartersolenoidB+terminaltothefuseblockatpin2.Theotherfusiblelink
connectsthevoltageregulatortothefuseblockatpin1.Ifafusiblelinkfails,
currenttotheprotectedcircuitisinterrupted;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1)for
additionalcircuitinformation.
TestingtheFusibleLinks
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachments,engagethe
parkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey
fromtheswitch.
2.Disconnectthenegativebatterycablefromthebatteryterminal,andthen
disconnectthepositivecablefromthebattery;refertoRemovingand
InstallingtheBattery(page6–31).
3.Locateanddisconnectthemachinewireharnessconnectorforthefusible
linktobetested:
•atthestartersolenoidB+terminal
•atthevoltageregulatoroutput

Checktheharnessconnectorfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepair
ifnecessary.
4.Useamultimetertoensurethatthecontinuityexistsbetweenthe
disconnectedconnectorandfuseF1(fuseblockpins1or2).
5.Ifanyofthefusiblelinksareopen,repairorreplacethemachinewireharness.
6.Afteryoucompletethetesting,connectanydisconnectedmachinewire
harnessconnectors.IfthewireharnessconnectoratthestartersolenoidB+
terminalwasdisconnected,tightenthestand-offnutto5.6to6.7N·m(50to
60in-lb).ApplybatteryterminalprotectortothestartersolenoidB+terminal
