CAUTION
Donotdisconnectsafetyinterlockswitches.Theyareforthe
operator’sprotection.Checktheoperationofthesafetyinterlock
switchesdailyforproperoperation.Replaceanymalfunctioning
switchesbeforeoperatingthemachine.
Themachineinterlockcomponentsinclude:
•Operatorseatswitch
•Tractionneutralswitch
•Interlockrelay
•DiodesD1andD2
•Seatswitchrelay(optional)
•PTOswitch(optional)
Onstandardmachines,theinterlockrelayisusedinconjunctionwiththeseat
switch,thetractionneutralswitch,anddiodesD1andD2toformtheinterlock
system.Thetractionneutralswitchmustbeproperlyadjustedandthetraction
pedalmustbeintheNeutralpositionfortheenginetocrank;refertoAdjusting
theTractionNeutralSwitch(page6–16).Theinterlockrelaymustbeenergized
throughthetractionneutralswitchortheOperatorseatswitchfortheengine
ignitionsystem(magneto)tofunction.Duringoperation,iftheinterlockrelay
shouldbede-energized(e.g.operatorrisesoutoftheseatwiththetractionpedal
depressed),themagnetowillbegroundedandtheenginewillstop.
Onmachineswithanoptionalrearremotehydraulicskitoroptionalhydraulic
switchkit,theseatswitchrelayandthePTOswitchalsobecomepartofthe
interlocksystem.TheenginewillnotcrankiftheOperatorisoutoftheseatand
thePTOswitchisengaged(evenifthetractionneutralswitchisintheNEUTRAL
position).Duringoperation,iftheseatswitchrelayshouldbede-energized
(e.g.operatorrisesoutoftheseatwiththePTOengaged),themagnetowill
begroundedandtheenginewillstop.
