1.Ensurethatallthethreads,thesealingsurfacesoftting,andthecomponent
portarefreeofburrs,nicks,scratches,orunwantedmaterial.
2.Tohelppreventahydraulicleak,replacetheO-ringwhenyouopenthe
connection.
3.LightlylubricatetheO-ringwithcleanhydraulicuid.Ensurethatthethreads
ofthettingarecleanwithnolubricantapplied.
IMPORTANT
Beforetighteningthetting,determinethematerialusedfortheport
thettingisbeinginstalledin.Installingattingintoanaluminum
portrequiresreducingtheinstallationtorque.
4.Installthettingintotheport,thenuseatorquewrenchandsockettotighten
thettingtotherecommendedtorquevaluewithinthespeciedrangeof
torquevalues;refertotheFittingInstallationT orqueTable(page5–11).
Note:Itmaybenecessarytouseadrive-adapterwrench(e.g.,crowfoot
wrench)toinstallahydraulictting;refertoCalculatingtheT orqueValues
WhenUsingaDrive-AdapterWrench(page2–6).

atorquewrench,usetheFlatsFromFingerTight(FFFT)proceduregiven
below:
A.Installthettingintotheportandtightenthettingdownfulllengthuntil
nger-tight.
B.Iftheportmaterialissteel,tightenthettingtothelistedvalue;referto
theFlatsFromFingerTight(FFFT)T able(page5–11).
