Thehourmeterislocatedonthedashpaneloftheoperator’sconsole.
TestingtheHourMeter
RefertoFigure80forthisprocedure.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachments,engagethe
parkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey
fromtheswitch.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery;refertoRemoving
andInstallingtheBattery(page6–31).
3.Removethe4fastenersthatsecurethedashpaneltotheoperator’sconsole
andraisethedashpaneltoaccessthebackofthehourmeter.
4.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromthehourmeter.Checkthehour
meterandtheharnessconnectorfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepair
ifnecessary.Removethehourmeterfromthedashpanelifnecessary.
5.Connectthepositive(+)terminalofthehourmetertothepositive(+)terminal
ofa12VDCpowersource.
6.Connectthenegative(-)terminalofthe12VDCpowersourcetotheother
terminalofthehourmeter.
7.Thehourmetershouldmove1/10ofanhourin6minutes.
8.Disconnectthevoltagesourcefromthehourmeter.
9.Replacethehourmeterifnecessary.
10.Ifthehourmetertestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthe
wireharnesses;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
11.Installthehourmeterandconnectthewireharnessaftertesting.
12.Connectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery.
