RemovingtheSteeringControlValve
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachments,engagethe
parkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey
fromtheswitch.
2.Removethefueltankfromthemachine;refertoRemovingandInstalling
theFuelT ank(page4–12).
3.ReadandadheretotheinformationprovidedinGeneralPrecautionsfor
RemovingandInstallingtheHydraulicSystemComponents(page5–54).
4.Cleanthehydraulictubeends,andttingsonthesteeringcontrolvalveto
preventcontaminantsfromenteringintothehydraulicsystem.
5.Labelandremovethehydraulichosesandtubesfromthettingsonthe
controlvalve.Allowthehydrauliclinestodrainintoasuitablecontainer.
6.Installcleancapsandplugsonthehydraulictubesandttingstoprevent
systemcontamination.
7.Removethesteeringwheelfromthemachine;refertoRemovingand
InstallingtheSteeringWheel(page7–13).
8.Supportthesteeringcontrolvalveandremovethefastenersthatsecurethe
steeringcontrolvalvetothemachine.
InstallingtheSteeringControlValve
1.Slidethesteeringcontrolvalveontothevalvesupportandsecurethe
steeringcontrolvalvetothemachinewiththepreviouslyremovedfasteners.
2.Removethecapsandplugsthenconnectthehydrauliclinestothecontrol
valvettings;refertoInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFace
SealFitting)(page5–7).
