Themodeselectswitchisa3positionswitchlocatedonthedashpanelofthe
operator’sconsole.Presstheswitchforwardtoengagethefrontattachmentand
rearwardtoengagetherearattachment.Neitherattachmentisengaged(OFF)
whentheswitchisinthecenterposition.
TestingtheModeSelectSwitch
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,loweranyattachments,engagethe
parkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremovethekey
fromtheswitch.
2.Disconnectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery;refertoRemoving
andInstallingtheBattery(page6–31).
3.Removethefastenerssecuringthedashpaneltotheoperatorsconsoleand
raisethedashpanel.
4.Disconnectthewireharnessconnectorfromtheswitchandremovethe
switchfromthedashpanelifnecessary.Checktheswitchandtheharness
connectorfordamageorcorrosionandcleanorrepairifnecessary.
5.Useamultimeter(ohmssetting)andtheprecedingtabletodetermine
whethercontinuityexistsbetweenthevariousterminalsforeachswitch
position.
6.Replacetheswitchifnecessary.
7.Iftheswitchtestscorrectlyandacircuitproblemstillexists,checkthewire
harnesses;refertoAppendixA(pageA–1).
8.Installtheswitchandconnectthewireharnessaftertesting.
9.Installthedashpanel.
10.Connectthebatterynegative(-)cableatthebattery.
