ttingorientationforassemblypurposes.Removethettingsfromthewheel
motoranddiscardtheO-ringsfromthettings.
InstallingtheFrontWheelMotor
IMPORTANT
Becauseoftheinternaldifferencesinthewheelmotors,donot
interchangethewheelmotorsonthemachine(e.g.,donotputarear
motoronthefrontofthemachine).
RefertoFigure54forthisprocedure.
1.Ifthehydraulicttingswereremovedfromthewheelmotor,lubricateand
installnewO-ringstothettings.Alignandinstallthettingsintothewheel
motorports;refertoInstallingtheHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThread
O-RingFittings)(page5–9).
IMPORTANT
Beforeinstallingthewheelhub,cleanthetapersofthewheelhub
andwheelmotorshaft.Ensurethatthetapersarefreeofgrease,
oil,rust,anddirt.Donotuseanti-seizelubricant,whenyouinstall
thewheelhub.
Donotusethelocknutpreviouslyremovedtoattachthewheelhub
tothewheelmotor.
2.Cleanthetapersofthewheelhubandwheelmotorshaftandinstallthe
woodruffkey,wheelhub,andanewlocknutonthewheelmotorshaft.
3.Useatorquemultipliertotightenthelocknutfrom271to542N·m(200to
400ft–lb).Removethewheelmotorassemblyfromthevise.
4.Installthefrontwheel;refertoInstallingtheFrontWheel(page7–4).
5.Removethecapsandplugsthenconnectthehydraulictubestothewheel
motorttings;refertoInstallingHydraulicHosesandTubes(O-RingFace
SealFitting)(page5–7).
6.Chargethehydraulicsystem;refertoChargingtheHydraulicSystem(page
5–64).
