5.1.5 Navigating the user interface
When operating the 2414 RI detector follow these steps to navigate through its
screens and menus:
1. Press the Enter key (or the s and t keys) to navigate among editable fields on a
display.
Result: A thickened border appears around the active field.
2. Press Enter to advance the active field once you complete an entry.
Notes:
If you make an error, press CE (clear entry) to undo any changes and return
to the active entry field.
An active field containing a choice list is indicated by a number to the right
of the field, within the thickened border.
3. To display a choice list, press Enter, and then perform one of the following tasks:
Press the corresponding number key to select an item immediately.
•Use the s and t keys to scroll through the list, and then press Enter.
Note: The s and t keys do not increment or decrement numerical field
entries. Instead, use the numerical keypad.
• – Enters a decimal point. Also
positions the cursor at the last
entry in a list.
+/– – Some edit fields accept
negative number entries. Use
this function to invert the sign of
the number in the active field.
CE – Clears an editing change,
and returns the contents of a
field to its previous value. Sets
the value to a unique word for
some fields. For example, in the
voltage offset diagnostic, you can
enter either a numeric offset
value or press CE to change it to
OFF.
Clear Field – Blanks the current
entry field before entering the
desired values.
Enter – Completes the entry in an edit field. Also advances the active
field as if the Down arrow had been pressed. Press Enter to
acknowledge error messages and other prompts. In these cases, the
word “Enter” appears as a cue in the lower-right border of the
message text.
