2.2 Starting the console software
The console is a software interface through which you configure the system settings and
instrument parameters, monitor system performance, run diagnostic tests, and maintain the
system and its modules.
In the console, you navigate to visual representations of each module and their components.
You can start the console from within the data system that you are using.

Table 2–3: SM-FL status
LED display Module status
Steady green Indicates the SM-FL is operating normally, attempting
to complete any outstanding samples or diagnostic
function requests. When sample and diagnostic
function requests are finished, the LED reverts to the
unlit mode.
Flashing red Indicates that an error stopped the module’s
operation. Refer to the console for information
regarding the error.
Steady red Indicates a module’s failure that prevents its further
operation. Cycle the module’s power. If the LED is still
steady red, contact your Waters service
representative.
Flashing red/green Request for visual indication of the module.
