2.3 Priming and equilibrating the system
The CO
2
side of the pump primes itself when you start the system and the flow is not turned on.
Prime only the co-solvent side of the pump using 100 percent co-solvent, typically methanol. The
priming process runs solvent through the lines to flush any particulates.
2.3.1 Priming the system
Always prime the system under these conditions:
After replacing the needle.
When the system has been idle for a relatively long time, such as overnight.
During system startup.
When changing co-solvent.
