5 Splitter configurations
5.1 Splitter components
The following section defines the UPC
2
splitter components by supported core configuration and
detection method.
Notes:
To comply with Japan’s High Pressure Gas Safety Act, Japanese customers must use
stainless steel tubing instead of PEEK™ tubing.
When installing stainless steel tubing between the MS splitter module and 515 makeup
pump, connect the stainless steel tubing from the MS splitter module directly to the makeup
pump’s check valve outlet port. You do not use the 515 makeup pump kit’s restrictor tube
and union for this configuration.
The MS splitter assembly is shipped with the 29.5 inch PEEKsil tubing pre-connected to the
external V-detail fitting on the end of the splitter module. If you are connecting a mass
spectrometer, such as the Xevo TQ-XS that uses a tool-free ESI (or APCI) probe capillary,
you must disconnect and remove the 29.5 inch PEEKsil tubing from the V-detail fitting
before connecting the probe capillary in its place.
