External Fault (contact input 16)
External fault input at contact input terminal 16
Cause Possible Solutions
An external device has tripped an alarm
function.
Remove the cause of the external fault and reset the external fault digital input contact.
Wiring is incorrect.
Properly connect the signal lines to the terminals assigned for eternal fault detection
(H1- = 20 to 2B).
Reconnect the signal line.
The contact inputs are set incorrectly.
Check if the unused terminals have been set for H1- = 20 to 2B (External Fault).
Change the terminal settings.
Digital Operator Display Fault Name
Err
EEPROM Write Error
Data cannot be written to the EEPROM.
Cause Possible Solutions
Noise has corrupted data while writing to the
EEPROM.
Press “ENTER” on the digital operator.
Correct the parameter setting.
Cycle power to the drive.
If the problem continues, replace the control board or the entire drive. Contact Yaskawa or a
Yaskawa representative for instructions on replacing the control board.

Yaskawa representative for instructions on replacing the control board.
Digital Operator Display Fault Name
FAn
Fan Fault
A cooling fan error has been detected by a signal from the fan fault detection board (FFB).
Cause Possible Solutions
Cooling fan fault
Set the cooling fan ON/OFF control selection (L8-10) to 2, and confirm whether the error
occurs again after the reset operation.
Confirm whether all cooling fans are operating.
Check U4-03 (Fan cumulative operation time) and U4-04 (fan maintenance timer).
Replace the cooling fan according to the user's manual if it has come to the end of its service
life, or has failed.
Maintenance settings are performed in o4-07.
Fan fault detection board fault
Check whether an error is displayed while all the cooling fans are in operation.
Replace the fan fault detection board. Contact Yaskawa or your nearest sales representative on
replacing the board.
Cooling fan contactor fault
Check the cooling fan contactor ON/OFF.
Replace the contactor.
Cooling fan wiring fault
Check whether there are any broken connections or incorrect wiring.
Correct wiring connections.
Fan fault detection board setup error
Check whether the fan fault detection board switch settings match with the connected fans.
Perform switch setting correctly.
Digital Operator Display Fault Name

Excessive PID Feedback
PID feedback loss detection is programmed to trigger a fault (b5-12 is set to 2 or 5), and the PID
feedback input is greater than the level set b5-36 for longer than the time set to b5-37.
Cause Possible Solutions
Parameters are not set appropriately. Check the settings of parameters b5-36 and b5-37.
Incorrect PID feedback wiring
Check for faulty wiring.
Correct the wiring.
There is a problem with the feedback sensor.
Check the sensor on the controller side.
Replace the sensor if damaged.
