u Cooling Fan Replacement Procedure
Replace cooling fans by using the following procedure. The general steps are given here. For details, contact your
Yaskawa representative or the nearest Yaskawa sales office.
DANGER! Electrical Shock Hazard. Do not connect or disconnect wiring or service equipment while the power is on. Failure to
comply will result in serious injury or death. Before servicing, disconnect all power to the equipment. There may be
multiple sources of power and control power may be present although the CHARGE indicator LED is extinguished.
Verify that control power is removed. The internal capacitor and the Power Cell exterior surface and interior remain
charged even after the medium-voltage power supply is turned off. Verify the CHARGE indicator LED is extinguished
before servicing and remove control power. To prevent electric shock, wait for at least the time specified on the warning
label after all indicators are OFF, and then measure for unsafe voltages to confirm the drive has reached a safe level
before servicing.
n Removal
1. Remove the mounting screws from the drive ventilation cover, then remove the ventilation cover at the top of the
drive.
CAUTION! Take due care not to drop any of the mounting screws inside the drive.
2. Disconnect the cooling fan cables from the relay terminals.
3. Remove the cooling fan mounting screws.
4. Pull upward on the cooling fan to remove.

n Mounting
Arrange the cooling fan cables so that they will not make contact with, or be caught in, the fan blades.
1.
Set the new cooling fan in place and tighten the mounting screws.
2. Reinstall the components in the reverse order of removal.
A – Cooling fan C – Relay terminal
B – Ventilation cover D – Ventilation cover mounting screws (M6)
