E-mail Notification
31.1 Overview
A mail server is an application or a computer that runs such an application to receive, forward and
deliver e-mail messages.
To have the GPON Device send reports, logs or notifications via e-mail, you must specify an e-mail
server and the e-mail addresses of the sender and receiver.
31.2 The E-mail Notification Screen
Click Maintenance > E-mail Notification to open the E-mail Notification screen. Use this
screen to view, remove and add mail server information on the GPON Device.

The following table describes the labels in this screen.
31.2.1 E-mail Notification Edit
Click the Add button in the E-mail Notification screen. Use this screen to configure the required
information for sending e-mail via a mail server.

Add New E-mail Click this button to create a new entry.
Mail Server
Address
This field displays the server name or the IP address of the mail server.
Username This field displays the user name of the sender’s mail account.
Port This field displays the port number of the mail server.
Security This field displays the protocol used for encryption.
E-mail Address This field displays the e-mail address that you want to be in the from/sender line of the e-
mail that the GPON Device sends.
Remove Click this button to delete the selected entry(ies).
